Goal:
To provide holistic pre-school education for pre-school children
in the areas of:
Musical Education - Dance / Rhythm - Art
Course participants should be able to identify the children's interests
and the direction of talent and to prepare them for subsequent instrument
lessons at a music school, or lessons at a ballet school or at an
art school.
Target Group:
- Nursery school teachers
- School teachers
- Music school teachers
- Art school teachers
- Ballet or dancing school teachers
- Interested people over the age of 18
Duration:
On-going training course for 9 months, comprising approx. 200 lessons
(of 45 minutes each) over 8 weekends

Seminar Topics:
Musical
Education:
Improvisation, harmony, song accompaniment, singing, voice training,
theory of music, listening training, methods of song arrangement
and interpretation, fundamentals of the theory of teaching music
Dance:
Interpretation of movement, improvisation, pantomime, contact
games, perceptive dances, circular dances, meditative dances,
expressive dances, fundamentals of rhythm
Art:
Painting and creative techniques, methods of arrangement for collage,
colour, painting, graphics, sculpture and appreciation of art
- Fundamentals of Learning Psychology:
What is creativity? Creativity as seen by various schools of psychology.
Creativity and intelligence. Motivation for creativity. The creative
process. Encouraging creativity.
- Holistic Working:
From the intensification of perception through the linking-up
of the senses to an increase in expressiveness
- Promoting Talent:
Didactic planning of work. Recognition of talent factors. Promotion
of semi-specific talents
- Special Features:
Should the seminar work show that there is a need to do some catching
up to deal with the areas where there is a lack of knowledge and
will require attendance at several further seminar courses, then
the training can be extended to a period of two years. This shall
also be applicable in the event that specific areas, where there
is a lack of knowledge, only become obvious during the course
of the training. The decision on the allocation of time shall
be taken by the course participant. Only the basic course must
be attended in a connected sequence. Whether an additional seminar
must be attended, or not, will be decided by the individual lecturer
after consultation with the seminar leader.
Working Methods Employed:
in the course: plenary sessions, work in small groups, individual
work, literature
at home: study of literature, keeping an educational diary
Minimum Requirements for Admission to the Diploma Examination:
- Completed training in education / teaching
- or work at a music, art or ballet school
- Fundamental knowledge in music (You can clearly express yourself
in music.)
- Elementary instrument skills (You are used to using a musical
instrument, e.g. accordion, recorder, guitar, keyboards, piano,
etc., in your work with children.)
- Every week you have the opportunity to translate the topics
learned into practice. (Unless you are already working in a teaching
sector, you must work in a corresponding facility for at least
one hour as practical training, and unpaid, as required.)
- Participation in all seminar activities Delivery of the seminar
paper in due course
- Delivery of at least six reports of your practical tests, in
each of the three major subjects, in in due course
- Payment of the seminar and examination fees when due
Examination:
The examination consists of eight parts.
- Seminar paper with a holistic approach
- A practical teaching session each with participants from each
of the three subjects
- Colloquium on holistic approaches
- Audition on an instrument (the presentation should demonstrate
creative skills)
- Presentation of an examination painting (the picture should
show artistic approaches)
- Solo dance (the dance should show creative approaches)
